Kinetics Synthesis Specialist
The Center for Environmental Kinetics Analysis (www.ceka.psu.edu) seeks a research
scientist (PhD) or postdoctoral fellow for a one-year appointment with a strong
possibility for renewal to work with biogeochemists in synthesizing environmental kinetics data.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Compile environmental kinetics data from CEKA researchers for dissemination, coordinate
synthesis of research results, produce two peer-reviewed databases, and interact with PSU
database specialists. Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work
effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.

Postdoctoral Position
A position is available for a postdoctoral scholar to utilize neutron scattering analysis and other techniques
to analyze rates and mechanisms of weathering of igneous rocks. The scholar will also learn to use
reactive transport modeling in collaboration with DOE scientists within the Penn State Center for
Environmental Kinetics Analysis to simulate weathering reactions. This is a one-year appointment
with a strong possibility for renewal. The supervisor for this postdoc will be Susan L. Brantley.
